|
Our AimThe ALKAA aims to serve both its members and the American society, as a whole, by promoting the improvement and well-being of Australian Labradoodles, by emphasizing the importance of continuing the breed as first introduced in Australia with the proper infusions, responsible breeding of our dogs, by promoting responsible ownership to all ages and sectors of society by reinforcing the necessity of educating both dog and owner, through the Canine Good Citizen Format. To promote excellence in breeding, showing, obedience and other canine related activities and the ownership of temperamentally and physically sound Australian Labradoodles Membership
Also, what differentiates this Association of Australian Labradoodles Breeders is its unique position on acceptable Infusions. It is determined that the breed was initiated as a service dog for those who suffered from allergies to breeds currently in use as service / therapy dogs. The most suitable therapy dog is one that stands tall enough to be of service to those in need and that would be a Standard sized ALD. Mediums Infusions which have downsized to a medium, aided in line development, and or are acceptable as long as those infusions are at least two generations from the current registered dogs. New infusions will be accepted or rejected on a case by case. No infusions will be accepted of COCKAPOOS, cocker spaniels or any breed not in the original strategies which included the Poodle, the Labrador Retriever, the Irish Water Spaniel and the Irish Wheaten Terrier. |
